#  Textbox Field

##  A single-line input field for short text entries like names, titles, or custom responses.

The Textbox is the default Convert Forms field for short, free-form answers on a single line, like a name, a subject, or a reference number.

It accepts any text. When an answer needs a specific format, use a dedicated field instead: [Email Address](https://www.tassos.gr/docs/convert-forms/fields/email) for emails, [Website / URL](https://www.tassos.gr/docs/convert-forms/fields/url) for links, or [Number](https://www.tassos.gr/docs/convert-forms/fields/number) for digits.

You can set a placeholder, a default value, and an input mask to guide what visitors type.

## [How to add a Textbox Field](#how-to-add)

1. Log into your Joomla backend.
2. Go to Components → Convert Forms → Forms.
3. Create a new form or edit an existing one.
4. In the form builder, click **Add Field**.
5. Select **Textbox** from the field list.
6. Configure the field's settings.
7. Save the form.
