Convert Forms Just Passed 1,000 Reviews on the JED

Convert Forms just crossed 1,000 reviews on the Joomla Extensions Directory. As we write this, the counter reads 1,001, with a 5-star average.

We listed Convert Forms on the JED on December 27, 2016. It's been downloaded 927,599 times since then, which leaves 72,401 to go until 1 million (yes, we're counting).

Almost 10 years in, we're still a little stunned.

Thank you

A review takes maybe 5 minutes to write. Multiply that by 1,000 and you get over 80 hours that people spent writing about a form builder.

We read all 1,000. Here are our 10 favorites.

  1. Chris titled the review "If Carlsberg made a Joomla forms extension..." Ease of use got "Easy peazy lemon squeezy," and the support section ends with "Tina wants her lyrics back."
  2. Philip Walton went with "If it could make tea I would marry it." Philip also noticed our docs weren't "handed to the assistant on a Friday afternoon to knock out."
  3. Alex Powers has used Joomla form components for 20 years, and now uses Convert Forms "predominantly for looking like a wizard to my clients. ;-))))"
  4. dxf-world liked the extension a lot more than JED's 64-character minimum, and ended all 4 answers with "And I do not want to write 64 characters, this is stupid."
  5. Yves Van Opstal planned a Eurovision-style song contest at a concert, with the audience picking the encore through a form.
  6. Alex Walker had used BreezingForms for nearly 15 years: "I was reluctant to move to another form component. I didn't need to worry."
  7. Alison likes being able to block "certain spammers (Eric Jones lol)" with a little PHP. If you run a contact form, you've met Eric.
  8. Eddie runs a dog website where breeders send in their stud dogs and litters to get them advertised.
  9. Rui built a case management system for personal injury law firms. Medical reports, deadline alerts, financial records and claims for insurers all go in through Convert Forms.
  10. JimS counted our docs and found "169 articles for this extension alone."

1,000 reviews by the numbers

We analyzed every review JED shows and counted. A few things jumped out.

  • 908 of the 1,000 give a perfect 5 stars. Support scores highest of the 4 categories, at 4.97 out of 5.
  • "Easy" is the most common word. It shows up in 514 of the 699 English reviews.
  • 532 reviews say support is fast, quick, or prompt (or schnell, or rapide). 62 mention a reply within hours, and 9 within minutes. The fastest anyone quoted: "under 5 mins."
  • 369 reviews mention Tassos by name.
  • The reviews come in 17 languages. After English come German (112), French (69), and Italian (37).
  • For 456 reviewers, Convert Forms is the only extension they've ever reviewed on the JED.
  • 1 in 3 reviewers use it for contact forms. Sign-ups, quotes and orders, and event bookings come next.
  • Spam protection comes up 3 times as often in the last 2 years: 9% of reviews, up from 3%.
  • 20 reviewers say they switched from another form extension: BreezingForms (11), ChronoForms (5), RSForm! (4) and a few others. 5 of them moved because their old one stopped getting updates.
  • 23 reviews call Convert Forms the last (or only) form builder you'll ever need. 15 of them put it in the title.

#2 on the JED's Top Rated list

Convert Forms is also #2 on the JED's Top Rated list, the highest spot held by any form builder. Akeeba Backup by Nicholas Dionysopoulos holds the #1 spot. That means the top 2 extensions on the list both come from Greek developers. Not bad for a country of 10 million people!

Our popup extension, EngageBox, made the list too, at #6 with 576 reviews.

40% off to celebrate

To say thanks, we're giving 40% off every new Convert Forms order. Use code 1000REVIEWS at checkout until November 4, 2026.

What's next

Let's talk about AI for a minute. It's changing how software gets built, and every software company feels it. Everyone seems to be vibe coding a replacement for some tool they used to pay for, and Joomla extensions are on that list too, Convert Forms included.

AI made code cheap, so it's worth saying what you pay us for. You're paying for 10 years of work on one product, and for support from the humans who did that work. When you open a ticket, one of the people who built Convert Forms answers it.

We'll keep doing what we've done since 2016: improving Convert Forms with a monthly update.

Have you seen what we're working on? Multi-page forms are coming. You'll be able to split a long form into pages, add a progress bar, and show or skip pages based on earlier answers.

You can try the Convert Forms beta today. Tell us what you think.

And if Convert Forms has saved you some time, we'd love to read your review on the JED. Review #1,002 could be yours.
