Now that the days are longer and hotter, life moves a little slower, and everyone seems to be more relaxed. The summer holidays are the perfect time to relax and enjoy the sun. But it is equally important to come back to work after the holidays feeling refreshed and ready for new challenges.
As a small Joomla team, we strive to improve and expand our Joomla extensions offerings constantly. Identifying priorities is important and you need to know what you need to work on next based on user feedback. As a result, you can always expect exciting new features and updates for our already-powerful Joomla extensions.
Here’s a breakdown of what’s going to be implemented once our summer vacation ends.

Product development is a complex procedure, hence it’s good to have a roadmap that helps you navigate the qualities of your product.
EngageBox
Our goal is to help you create elegant popup designs in the shortest time possible. We are currently working on EngageBox 6, the next major release of your favorite Joomla Popup Builder. The key feature of this new release will be the re-designed Popup Template Library which will include 50+ brand new popup templates, and powerful template filters based on popup type and campaign goals.
Additionally, in order to find out which popups are bringing in the most conversions and learn which pages convert the best to level up your game, we are planning to add a new section for popup analytics and insights.
Convert Forms
One of the most frequently asked questions we receive in regards to Convert Forms, is “How can I run THIS when a FIELD equals X”, in other words, “Is it possible to send an email when a checkbox is checked?” or maybe “How to add a user to MailChimp only when a dropdown has a certain value?”.
Although Convert Forms does support sending emails and integrates perfectly with MailChimp, what does not make it easy, is running those actions conditionally.
But, this is going to be changed (really soon).
Convert Forms 4 is going to introduce a new shiny section right in the form builder, called Actions. In this section, you will be able to manage all the actions you would like to run when a certain event is triggered.
For instance, here’s what you will be able to do with a single form whenever a user submits it:
- Send an auto-responder to the user
- Send an email to the admin
- Add user to MalChimp if checkbox is checked
- Create a Joomla User Account if dropdown equals X
- Send a Webhook to a remote URL
- Push submitted data to a Google Sheet
The sky will be the limit.
Google Structured Data
The roadmap for our SEO extension is full. JEvents, iCagenda, RSDirectory, and JReviews will be the next integrations that will be added to the already big number of supported Joomla Extensions. At the moment of writing this, the Google Structured Data extension makes it possible to markup with structured data 21 Joomla extensions.
More schema types are also on our plans. In the upcoming new releases expect support for schema types like Q&A, Book, Podcast, HowTo, Paywall Content, and Software.
Advanced Custom Fields
Joomla Custom Fields gives you incredible flexibility and profound capabilities to your site’s content. At the moment of writing this, our collection consists of 30 fields 25 of them are available in the free version!
So, here’s what’s on our bucket list in regards to new fields.
