The Country field is a drop-down pre-filled with all known countries, so you don't have to type the list yourself.

It can detect the visitor's country automatically and pre-select the most likely option.

How to add a Country Field

  1. Log into your Joomla backend.
  2. Go to Components → Convert Forms → Forms.
  3. Create a new form or edit an existing one.
  4. In the form builder, click Add Field.
  5. Select Country from the field list.
  6. Configure the field's settings.
  7. Save the form.

Using the Country field in conditional logic

The Country field stores each country's two-letter ISO code (uppercase), not its name. So when you build a conditional logic rule based on the selected country, whether to show a field or route an email, match against the code, not the country name.

Comparing against "Spain" or "Spanien" never matches. To target Spain, set the rule to equals ES. A few examples:

  • Spain → ES
  • Germany → DE
  • United States → US

You can look up any country's code in the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 list, or check a saved submission, which stores the code.
